Happy (Lunar) New Year! Year of the Rooster

So, another few months have come and gone since the last update…

Believe it or not, our internet presence is a high priority for us, but (here comes the excuse), we have been busy with our day-to-day operations.

As we have added another client for our fulfillment side of the business, our warehouse has been understaffed, so I have personally been working from our Incheon Airport for the the past few months. I have been driving about 70 miles (110KM) a day, just between our office in Seoul and our Incheon warehouse.

The new client, has around 200 SKUs, but the needs of this client are more time consuming. They sell on a few different sites, and also have different combinations of the products they sell. For instance, a shipment might contain 20 different SKUs, so we need to make certain that the correct products are packaged together.

Furthermore, since their main products are edibles, we need to ensure that everything is stored and packaged properly, and making sure the sell-by-dates are properly handled.

I wish I could have said that everything started perfectly from the start, but it has not. From the time we have started, there have been some shipments that we could have handled a lot better. Be it data exchange, shipping labels, product shortages, to mistakes in handling, we have learned from our mistakes and have implemented better processes.

During normal working hours, after we receive an order, it should take less than 5 hours to from pick to pack, to getting the tracking number to the client’s ERP.

After all, the status of the delivery is one of the most important aspects to a consumer, especially when they are purchasing a product overseas.
